A successful outdoor-footwear order starts with a clear sourcing route and written product confirmation. Buyers should decide whether they need current ready-stock products, OEM production from an existing brief, or ODM development support before comparing prices and timing.
1. Define the buyer and target market
Identify the business type, destination market, target customer, intended retail position and main outdoor category. A hiking retailer, general footwear distributor and private-label brand may need different products, price structures and development support.
2. Select ready stock, OEM or ODM
Choose ready stock when a suitable current product already exists. Choose OEM when you have a design, reference sample or defined specification. Choose ODM when you have a market requirement but need support turning it into a commercial footwear product. The comparison guide explains these routes in detail.
3. Confirm product facts
Check the exact style, category, declared function, colours, sizes, carton quantity and fixed size ratio. Do not assume that every outdoor shoe is waterproof or that all products use the same materials, packing or size range.
4. Understand carton ordering
12Shoes uses a one-carton minimum per SKU for current wholesale products. Each SKU is packed as either 12 or 15 pairs according to the current product record, using a fixed size ratio. Buyers order cartons rather than building an individual-size assortment.
5. Plan samples where required
Custom OEM/ODM sample development normally costs USD 1,000 and takes approximately 30 days. A private-label sample based on an existing 12Shoes product direction normally costs USD 700 and takes approximately 25 days. The corresponding sample fee can be credited against settlement of the confirmed bulk order for that project.
6. Approve specifications and commercial terms
Before bulk production or preparation, confirm the product specification, sample, quantity, branding, packaging, price, payment terms and expected timing in writing. Project-specific terms take priority over general website information.
7. Inspect before shipment
Buyers or their appointed representatives may inspect goods before shipment. If a quality issue is identified, the parties can first agree an appropriate solution; return is not the only possible resolution.
8. Confirm shipment or Jinjiang pickup
International freight is quoted for the destination and shipment method. Confirmed orders can also be collected from the Jinjiang operations location after the collection arrangement is agreed.
